Digi Caddie Rangefinder Reviews Page
Taking the guesswork out of golf!

The
use of Rangefinders in golf has been around for
quite a
while. Until made legal the use of rangefinders was limited to range work, where a laser finder is ideal for determining how far you hit each club in your bag, and for practice rounds.
Most tournament players have been using them for just this purpose for many many years which is why they know exactly how far they hit each club..
We have reviewed the more popular models and we rate them below.
Number1: Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 Tournament Edition.
Our Rating: 8/10
Price: $370.99
Range: 5- 1500 Yards
Magnification: 7 X
Accuracy: To within 1 yard. Overview:
The Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 Tournament Edition is our favorite rangefinder.
Backed by arguably the best name in the business the Pinseeker tour edition is an extremely accurate and versatile machine. With its range of up to 1500 meters and a magnification of 7 times it has a myriad of uses other than for golf.
It is waterproof and has a built in Rain targeting mode as well as Scan and built in Reflector mode to go along with its well known Pinseeker mode. This makes for easy and excellent viewing under all weather conditions.
This is the number one rangefinder endorsed by the pros (and their Caddys) as the most useful tool when practicing.
You know the distance you need to hit and once hit you an get instant feedback.
Customer loyalty to this model speaks for itself.
Cons:
Like all rangefinders you do need 'line of sight' an argument the GPS fans are always bringing up.The Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 Tournament Edition is a bit on the large and heavy side but if you are carting or can attach it to your bag then this should prove no problem.
At this price it has some serious competition from the newer GPS models.
Conclusion:
Despite the arguments from the GPS brigade there is still a place in golf (and other applications) for Rangefinders and if you want one then by all means get yourself a Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 Tournament Edition today.
Number 2: Bushnell Tour V2
Our
Rating:
6/10Price: $325.00
Range: 5- 1000 Yards
Magnification: 5 X
Accuracy: To within 1 yard.
Overview:
The Bushnell Tour V2 is a compact rangefinder that is easy to use.
It made our number 2 spot because it does what is required for golf and comes with a price tag that is reasonable for this type of quality.
Whilst it only has 2 targeting modes in pinseeker and scan we argued that this was enough for the average golfer. Others may differ but then they will be paying a premium for the technology.
Cons:
The smaller magnification and range does not make it as versatile as the number 1 contender.
Whilst it is compact it is still quite heavy.
The Bushnell Tour V2 will be competing with GPS in a similar price bracket.
Conclusion:
If it is a rangefinder you are after and this is your price range then you have just found your rangefinder.
You can buy with confidence.
Number 3: Callaway LR800 High Performance Rangefinder
Our Rating: 5/10
Price: $429.95
Range: 800 Yards
Magnification: 6 X
Accuracy: 0.5 yard for distances up to 400 yards. Beyond this range the accuracy is to within 1 yard.
Overview:
We have been asked why such a low rating. Truth is we feel that the price tag on this model simply gives it too much competition.
But price issue aside Nikon and Callaway have come up with a very tidy and practical rangefinder in the Callaway R800 High Performance Rangefinder.
The first target priority allows you to pick up targets that may normally be confused with background targets - such as a pin with trees in the background. By depressing and holding the button for up to 20 seconds you are able to get multiple target reading.
The thee volt lithium battery is good for up to 10,000 depressions whilst the clear LCD display comes with a built in back light.
Cons:
Only the price.
Conclusion:
If you want a good looking rangefinder that also works and you are not too worried about the money then the Callaway LR800 High Performance Rangefinder may just be what you have been looking for.
